Ulster Cycles Promotions Club
Ulster Cycles Promotions Club is a voluntary club, with normally about ten members, which exists principally to organize the Tour of Ulster, but also other events.
The third annual St Patricks Festival race was run this year on 18th March, from Armagh to Downpatrick, with over 100 competitors and the race was won by 16 year old Sean Downey from Banbridge.
The “Irish News Belfast-Dublin two day held in the millenium year was also a UCPC promotion, as was the N.I.Milk Race and the Belfast City Councils “Centenary Race”.
All UCPC members are also Cycling Ireland members, drawn from ordinary clubs. All are lovers of the sport, prepared to work on a voluntary basis.
UCPC was formed in the late 1980’s,around the time as the new controlling body, the Federation of Irish Cyclists,(now Cycling Ireland).
